Information for the inquisitive
Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs have short legs and gentle backs, so that their bellies almost touch the ground. They are black and of medium size: average height is less than 0,5 m. and weight about 60 kg. They have got little heads with short, upright ears. A sow can have a litter twice a year, each of more than 10 farrows.
The raccoon dog is a member of the canid family (which includes dogs, wolves and foxes) and is indigenous to east Asia. It was introduced in Europe between the 1930s and 1950s as potential fur or game animals and have spread rapidly since. Average adult head and body length is about 65 cm and weight ranges from 4 to 10 kg, the fur is grey, long and thick.
For the youngest visitors we prepared a special, safe playground with a merry-go-round, swings, slides.
